Data Security in the Construction Industry

Architectural Drawings - Security of information Will CAD and security survive #Security   #CAD   #Digital-Twinn   Introduction The information embeded into any Architectural drawing is sometimes a security problem for all of the construction team, including the client if it was ever released to the wrong people. In days before CAD, drawing were printed, folded and sent via post to who ever needed them, along with a distribution list, often many drawings were printed, I know this because as a junior in a practice in 1970, I spent hours on a maching printing folding and organising the distribution. In this article we look at the transition of architectural drawings from paper to digital created an IP and integrity crisis that can only be solved by adopting the Golden Thread of Information. and beyond. This article is intended to create a thread for your Knowledge base research, I have included a link to my conversation with Google Gemini, my prefered AI. There is a ...
The Shadow Grove So often the older plastered walls are not level from top to bottom, and the Architrave show gaps and solid areas at the interface of the timber to the wall,. The Shadow Grove This is a method that makes the gap look as though it was there, hiding the undulations with a small grove. Often the grove forms a shadow in the grove adding to the performance of the grove in hiding the undulation of the wall, Modern day Platerboard is not so susceptible to the undulations of wet plaster, so its use is declining, but its a useful trick not just in the design of a doorway and its Architrave. But rthis is not the only use of the shadow groove, tiling in a bathroom can benefit from the Architrave fitting over the tiles, a shadow grove allows this and also hides again the undulations of the tile run. Timber detailing can also be helped, hide the join between a beading and a larger area of timber of the Skirting board I have also used the Shadow grove in detailing the differenc...

Loosing Faith Well 2025 is over we are into 2026, and I am leaving Apple, well mostly, I will move across to Google, a place I should never have left. Why, well Apple is not just standing still, its moving backwards against Google and Linux, and I bring Linux into the equasion, simple because I view it as a place for development i so many ways for the construction industry, but Google with their integration if AI in the form of Gemini, is leaps and bounds ahead,  Even if Apple imports Gemini, and I think they will, Apple is to far behind to catch up. So I will be moving back, slowly with files I need in Google and deleating the Apple side once copied over I will keep my email as is, but at some point it will go back to Gmail,  Sorry Apple, its been a ride, but the future is Google, always was and for the forseable future will be.
